About Us

Who We Are

Since its beginning in 1970, The Pine River Association has been working to protect and to preserve the Pine River and its environs. The Association is actively involved in stream bank restoration, aquatic habitat preservation, watershed protection, and the pursuit of social harmony among various river users. We take upon ourselves the stewardship of enhancing the quality of life for all those who might visit and enjoy the Pine River.

The Pine River Association has also taken a leading role in the Pine River Watershed Restoration project, a partnership formed in 1990 between private organizations and local, state, and federal agencies with a mutual concern for the conservation and improvement of the water quality, fisheries, wildlife, forestry, recreational potential, and scenic and free-flowing characteristics of the Pine River and its watershed. The primary objective of this project is to reduce sediment delivery to the Pine River system in order to restore the aquatic ecosystem, including fish spawning and rearing habitat, on a watershed scale.
